Ages 7-14
Each session will be divided into
groups, based on the student's
age, size, experience and ability.
Stong emphasis on specific
training.
HIGHLIGHTS OF TRAINING
Power Skating and Edge Control • Quickness and Speed Development
Explosive Starts and Stops • Tight Turns • Puckhandling • Shooting
Passing and Receiving • Protecting the Puck
DEFENSEMEN SKILLS DEVELOPMENT : Backward skating, Backward crossovers, Transition skating, Pivots, Playing the one on one, Two on one, Two on two, Front of net coverage, Angling and gap control
FORWARD SKILLS DEVELOPMENT : Offensive skills, Puck support, Backchecking, Quick hands, Passing & Receiving, Drop passing, Rebound drills, Screening & Tips, Cycling
SHOOTING & SCORING DEVELOPMENT : Each session in the Defensemen & Forwards development will include Shooting & Scoring development. Making a great shot is one of the joys of the game, especially when you score. We have developed a program for the player who wants to improve their shot and scoring ability.
3 on 3
HOCKEY
Each session there will be time allocated for
3 on 3 competition. Hockey demands sudden
turns and changing of direction. Reading and
reacting, 3 on 3 will develop such skills.
ON-ICE TESTING and TIME TRAILS
Each student will be competing in the fastest skater contest within their own age group. Medals will be
awarded to the winners !
FILMING & EVALUATION
Each student will be filmed and evaluated during the week. Each student will review their filming with the coach. On the final day, each student will receive a written evaluation.
JERSEY
Each student will receive an official hockey jersey.
OFF-ICE TRAINING
Each day prior to on-ice activities, time will be allocated for: Group warm up and dynamic stretch
Hockey Combine testing / Light plyometric to develop balance, agility, quickness and strenght
Obstacle courses / Relay races / NHL hockey videos / Teaching hockey videos
Off-ice shooting and dribbling to improve quick hands / Soccer
SHOOTING CONTEST !
On the final day, students will compete in a shooting contest within their own age group. This is always a special and fun event. Medals will be awarded to the group winners !
